Beginning Long Arm Quilting Class

We have purchased a BabyLock "Jewel" long arm quilting machine for those of you interested in finding an affordable way to quilt those finished tops.

We will have classes on operating the Jewel and after completion you will be able to rent the Jewel by the hour to do your own long arm quilting. Class dates are: March 20th, April 10th, and May 22nd, June 26th, July 17th from 1 PM to 4 PM.

Classes are filling up fast so give us a call to schedule a time slot.

Class Fee: $50 plus $5.00 materials fee

Long Arm Intermediate free motion

If you have taken our Beginning Long Arm quilting class and re now ready to move on to additional designs and patterns...this is the class for you. In this class you will explore new designs, changing quilt patterns to go from edge to edge, and borders, Simple feathers and more. Materials required...small blunt tip scissors and scissors reel.

Date: To Be Determined

Time: 1 PM to 4 PM

Kid's Quilts for Passages

1st Tuesday of each month from 1 to 4 PM, you are invited to join us as we make children’s quilts for Passages in Richland Center.  You may bring your own sewing machine or we have 2 machines available for use at the shop.  We always need people to cut, pin, and bind.  If you have taken our Longarm class on Jewel…Here’s a great change to practice your longarm quilting skills.

Classes for those who purchase a Baby Lock embroidery machine from the Thimble N Thread, LLC. Just purchase the tool, fabric and/or kit required to make the project. Please sign up in advance and pick up material list.To reserve your class space, please purchase a $5 coupon, that is redeemable the day of the class for $10 in merchandise.  Coupon is good day of class only for everyone who attends class.

When you purchase a "Little Max" from Thimble N Thread, we invite you to attend the FREE monthly classes to learn how to transfer your Dakota designs onto a card for your Baby Lock embroidery machine. Snap Happy 10 AM- noon

Materials required:
Snappy Happy pattern
2 FQ’s of coordinating fabric
Tear away stabilizer
½ yard fusible batting
¼ yard iron on interfacing

A 4” x 4” embroidery hoop has less waste and is easier to work with on a smaller design(if you don’t have a small hoop, you may use the one that came with your machine)

Select a 4” x 4” embroidery design before class, and make sure you have all the colors of thread that you need. Use design programmed in machine or have your selection from a disc downloaded BEFORE class(If you are using a densely embroidered pattern, you may want to use a heavier weight fabric such as canvas or denim)
Pre wound embroidery bobbin.
